Last week, SolarVis co-founders and CEOs Samet Yıldırım and Enes Karahançer attended the Slush event held in Helsinki. Slush is known as a start-up and investor-focused event and hosted around 12,000 participants this year. The participation rate from Türkiye was quite high; about 5% of the participants came from our country.
Here are Samet Yıldırım’s observations during the event:
- The liquidity crisis experienced both in our country and globally over the past year was felt at the event. Investments have become more localized.
- It is essential to make good preparations before Slush. It is healthiest to have initial meetings with potential investors before the event and to meet face-to-face at the event.
- Helsinki has fully embraced Slush. There is extensive knowledge about the event throughout the city, and students in Helsinki significantly support the event.
- In the current investment environment, it is important to be well-prepared and at the post-seed level to attract investments from abroad.
As solarVis, we recently closed a successful funding round and are not in an active round currently. Therefore, we attended Slush to meet investors and potential partners suitable for us in the second round and beyond and to gain insights. We successfully achieved our goal 🎯
