Obligation d'Achat (EDF OA)
Surplus is sold under a purchase obligation at a regulated tariff, fixed for 20 years from commissioning. The tariff in force on the connection date is the one the project keeps for its whole contract, which makes the connection date a commercial variable rather than an administrative one.
Support has been cut repeatedly since 2025
Both the surplus tariff and the self-consumption premium for small systems have been reduced several times since 2025. Confirm the applicable value against the current CRE publication before it goes into a proposal, and never carry a rate forward from an older quote.
Tarif Bleu Base and Heures Pleines / Heures Creuses
Residential supplies run at 6 or 9 kVA on either a flat Base rate or an HP/HC split with off-peak hours overnight. Choosing between the two and sizing a battery are the same decision, because the value of stored energy is the gap between the two rates.
Professional tariffs C5 to C1
C5 Bleu Pro follows Base or HP/HC, C4 adds four seasonal periods, and C3, C2 and C1 run five periods including the winter peak in the morning and early evening. All of them carry power charges, so contracted power has to be modelled alongside energy.
01How long is the French surplus tariff fixed for?+
Twenty years from commissioning. The rate that applies on the connection date is locked for the whole contract, so two otherwise identical projects connected in different quarters can earn materially different revenue over their lifetime.
02Can I reuse the tariff from my last proposal?+
No. French support levels have been cut several times since 2025 and the reductions have been significant, so a rate copied from an earlier quote is likely to be wrong. Check the current CRE publication for each project and enter the confirmed value.
03Does solarVis model HP/HC and the seasonal periods?+
Yes. Ten French tariffs are preloaded, covering residential Base and HP/HC at 6 and 9 kVA, C5 Bleu Pro, the four seasonal periods of C4 and the five periods of C3, C2 and C1, along with their power charges.
04Why does contracted power matter in France?+
Because from C4 upwards the bill carries a power charge that generation does not reduce. A design that lowers energy consumption without addressing the site's peak leaves a large part of the bill untouched, and the customer notices that on the first invoice.
